A Good Faculty Match Make sure you are familiar with facultys work. Articles –When you are reading the article look at the date, the person may no longer be working on that subject matter. See if there are professor or assistant professor (some may be emeritus, visiting or some other designation).
First Contact E-mail –Professor, department secretary, graduate division Talk about your research interests, current projects, and ask questions about the professors current works. Does the school have any programs that pay for you to visit?
Lets Get Personal A phone call to follow up- –You may not get a reply to an e-mail –Also try an actual sent letter (stamp is required for those of you who never sent an actual hard copy b4). Plan a visit even if you have to pay for the flight, IT WORKS!
