1 Those on the right wing of politics: Want to keep society very stable. Want a strong government dominated by a strong leader. Support capitalism- the private ownership of land and business. Stress the importance of the family unit, law and order and traditional values Are nationalist- placing the interest of the nation over the individual.

2 Those on the left wing of politics: Want to change society rapidly. Aim to treat all people as equal and give political powwer to the workers. Oppose capitalism; they want to abolish private ownership of land and business. Are internationalists; they stress the cooperation of nations

5 Proportional Representation This was the method used in the Weimar Republic to decide which Party would form the government. Each Party received the % of seats in the Reichstag related to number of votes they received. For example if the Nazi Party received only 3% of the vote then they would receive a 3 % share of the seats in the Reichstag. The problem with this is that the Germans had too much choice (28 different parties) and no party secured a majority win. The First President of the Weimar Republic Friedrich Ebert was forced to set up a coalition government with the SPD, DDP and the Centre Party.. Freidrich Ebert was the First Chancellor, he became the President and Phillip Scheidemann took over as Chancellor
