1. BIBLE HISTORY Course Objectives

2. I. To equip students with a fundamental understanding of the important literary forms contained in the Bible, as well as Biblical figures and symbols often referred to in literature, art, and music.

3. II. To equip students with a fundamental understanding of the influence of the Bible on history, law, American community life, and culture.

4. III. To provide insight into the world views of America’s Founding Fathers and consideration of how the Bible influenced their views on human rights.

5. IV. To provide a greater knowledge of Middle-Eastern history, geography, religion, and politics.

6. V. To inform the student of the importance of religion in world and natural history, without imposing the doctrine of any particular religious sect.
