**Solve a System of Linear Equations**

Aim: Substitute one function into another in order to find values that satisfy both functions. Solve a System of Linear Equations Find a solution, algebraically, that will satisfy both equations. x + y = 7 x – y = 1 1. Get one equation to ‘y = ‘ or ‘x =‘. 2. Substitute one equation into the other equation. 3. Solve for the variable. 4. Get the other variable by substituting in either of the original equations. Check: ( ) 5. Check the solution in both equations.
