You believe an earthquake is happening! Should you head outside or wait indoors? Head outside! Stay inside under a secure desk or table!
Never Head Outside During an Earthquake! If you DO NOT want to be crushed under a falling building then do not go outside during an earthquake. If you are outdoors then you should head to an open area like a park. Make sure you are away from any thing that may fall on you such as trees or buildings. Also be careful of other hazards that could be caused by the earthquake such as fire, tsunamis, mudslides, and aftershocks. Finally call for help! No matter where you are you should always dial 911 on your cell phone. Want to see what would happen if you stayed inside? Well then click here! What do you do after an earthquake? Good Choice! Staying Under Cover Will Help! During an earthquake it is suggested that you should move to a safe and secure location away from things that may fall on you. Under a desk or along an interior wall away from heavy objects that may fall on you is the best place to be. You should also turn off any stoves, electronic fireplaces, or any other gas powered device. If you leave it on and an earthquake breaks the device then BOOM your gone. During an earthquake fires tend to happen more often because of broken gas pipes. Want to see what would happen if you went outside? Well then click here! What do you do after an earthquake? If they do have injuries find a first aid kit and seek medical attention by calling 911. Second check for damage. Make sure there isn’t any gas leaks or that your in a building that is about to collapse! If there you do find some kind of hazard get out of the building immediately and inform the authorities.
