3 Background Information  Walt Disney was born in Chicago on December 5, 1901  He took an interest in drawing and art and sold small sketches when he was only 7 years old  Worked for Red Cross during his teen years and covered his ambulance in his cartoon drawings

4 The Dream  Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated picture, premiered in December of 1937  After beginning television production in 1954, Disney opened his first amusement park, Disneyland Park, in 1955  Disney was among those who pioneered full-color programming  His most famous character was originally named Mortimer Mouse but today we know him as who? The Loveable Mickey Mouse! "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."

5 A Magical Land  Walt Disney was a genius of our time. He created some of the most recognizable characters and some of the most visited parks.  Billions of people travel from far and wide to vacation in one of these parks, and there is hardly a child today that does not know the name “Mickey Mouse.” “I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."
