Pursuing our core business already means acting responsibly in societys interest. We, however, want to go beyond this – this is why we are committed to social projects as a matter of conviction.

This is why we donate money and goods to social projects supporting underprivileged children and young people, contributing to the positive development of future generations. -Educational materials, e.g. for road safety and first aid -Support for projects aiming at making living spaces suitable for children, e.g. providing materials for playground improvements and extensions -Support for activities promoting the well-being of children and adolescents, e.g. financial support maintaining the nationwide free emergency hotline for children

Guided and supported by experts, students gather practical experience in research projects or write their final theses on a TSO-related subject, e.g. on themes like transmission capacity, the integration of renewable energies into the system, congestion management, and load-flow based auctions. Cooperation ventures with universities to support young potential scientists and teaching

We coach students on their research and diploma theses in TSO-related themes like transmission capacity, auction & congestion management at the following higher education institutions: - Graduate college of the Brandenburg Technical University in Cottbus (BTU) - Ilmenau Technical University - Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW)

12 12April 2010, Our commitment – CSR at 50Hertz, Bilz/Westrup, Cororate Communication and Public Affairs Our commitment to safety and health We attach great importance to the well-being of our staff Safety and health as a quality standard at 50Hertz Every company is only as good as its staff. This is why we pursue multiple activities and offer opportunities to invest in the well-being of our workforce of around 600 who work in various disciplines. They are committed to achieving the companys objectives and performing its important task for the economy and society – ensuring safe and secure electricity supply in the best possible way.

13 13April 2010, Our commitment – CSR at 50Hertz, Bilz/Westrup, Cororate Communication and Public Affairs Our activities in the workplace -European trainee programme -Close support in practically oriented diploma and doctoral theses -High apprenticeship quota Our action is geared to sustainability – mindful of future generations We are offering our trainees and apprentices a programme tailored to their needs. Our enterprise boasts an outstandingly high number of apprenticeships relative to its staff number: We look after over 20 apprentices, offer interns the opportunity to gather professional experience in our company, and coach students writing practically oriented diploma and doctoral theses. To do this, we maintain a broad range of cooperation ventures with renowned universities in technical, business and legal fields.

Further European partners will join. Our youngest employees are given the opportunity of on-site learning at our European partner CEPS: European trainee programme

We have implemented the following programmes to ensure the occupational safety of our employees:

Certified health and safety programmes are therefore priorities at 50Hertz. They are the basis of responsible action and a central pillar of our corporate culture. 50Hertz is investing in comprehensive health and safety programmes, flexible working time models, projects for employee codetermination, company sports and medical screenings.
