To start, a couple of words as to how Drive ES SIMATIC is integrated into the product environment. Drive ES Basic Drive ES PCS7 CFC V 5.1 (Prerequisite for Drive ES Graphic) Drive ES Graphic Drive ES SIMATIC Communications Engineering/commissioning Product position: Drive ES SIMATIC is a function block library which supports you when establishing communications between the CPU and drives. The function blocks run on a SIMATIC-CPU.

2 Drive ES SIMATIC: The Drive ES SIMATIC blocks are configured on a PC and then downloaded into the CPU. SIMATIC S7

3 SIMATIC S7 Drive ES SIMATIC: Blocks are provided for communication functions. These blocks do not have to be developed or programmed - they only have to be parameterized. The following blocks are available:

SIMATIC S7 Blocks: Cyclic data transfer Non-cyclic parameter transfer Reading-out fault texts from drives (e.g. for OP display) Project examples Generator to easily expand the communications Download from the CPU (when replacing drives) Converter from parameter set > DB (when replacing drive units) Converter for projects from older blocks into Drive ES SIMATIC format. Tested blocks are available in five languages Blocks are multi-instance capable Blocks can also be configured with CFC

You can simply expand the project example using the data block generator. 2. Project example 3. Expand hardware 4. Start DB generator Copy 1. Own project NEW SIMATIC S7 Download into CPU 5. Expand STEP7 program

7 Replacing drives: Here, you can see how the parameter set of the drive is downloaded from the CPU after a drive has been replaced. 2. Set the PROFIBUS address at the new drive unit 4.
