EU Visibility  Visibility is part of the contractual agreement with the EU - provided that this does not harm mandate and safety. The EU has a number of visibility requirements for projects funded through EuropeAid. There are 4 basic requirements: Need to give the same amount of visibility to EU as we give to the Red Cross. i.e. wherever there is a Red Cross logo * there should also be an EU logo of equal prominence It should target beneficiaries and public in both Kenya and in Europe Need to spend more than € 1,000. Need to have a Communication & Visibility Plan on how the project ensures EU visibility * Danish Red Cross does not require its own visibility EU – ACP Isiolo WASH Project 6 Project Orientation – EU Reporting – Oct 2011 6

EU Visibility  EU Flag / Logo The EU has a web-page with a step-by-step guide: EU Communication & Visibility Manual (2010) as well as many sample templates for banners, display panels, t-shirts etc.. The templates are designed only to serve as an example of the final output. EU encourages original design where possible. The only obligatory elements are the EU flag accompanied by the text “This project is co-funded by the European Union”, and the disclaimer for publications. EU – ACP Isiolo WASH Project Disclaimer should read: “This publication has been produced with the assistance of the European Union. The contents of this publication are the sole responsibility of <name of the author / contractor / implementing partner / International organisation> and can in no way be taken to reflect the views of the European Union.” 9 Project Orientation – EU Reporting – Oct 2011 9
