Jesus, Lover of My Soul
JESUS, LOVER OF MY SOUL, LET ME TO THY BOSOM FLY, WHILE THE NEARER WATERS ROLL, WHILE THE TEMPEST STILL IS HIGH, HIDE ME, O MY SAVIOR, HIDE, TILL THE STORM OF LIFE IS PAST; SAFE INTO THE HAVEN GUIDE; O RECEIVE MY SOUL AT LAST
OTHER REFUGE HAVE I NONE, HANGS MY HELPLESS SOUL ON THEE; LEAVE, AH! LEAVE ME NOT ALONE, STILL SUPPORT AND COMFORT ME. HIDE ME, O MY SAVIOR, HIDE, TILL THE STORM OF LIFE IS PAST, SAFE INTO THE HAVEN GUIDE, O RECEIVE MY SOUL AT LAST
O WHAT GRACE WITH THEE IS FOUND GRACE TO COVER ALL MY SIN; LET THE HEALING STREAMS ABOUND; MAKE AND KEEP ME PURE WITHIN. HIDE ME, O MY SAVIOR, HIDE TILL THE STORM OF LIFE IS PAST; SAFE INTO THE HAVEN GUIDE;
O RECEIVE MY SOUL, SAFE INTO THE HAVEN GUIDE, O RECEIVE MY SOUL AT LAST
When sorrow like sea billows roll While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high Be still my soul, the wind and waves still know His voice that ruled them while He dwelt below
It is a dangerous error, certainly very widespread among Christians, to think that the heart can pray by itself. Prayer does not mean simply to pour out ones heart… -- Dietrich Bonhoeffer
If we wish to pray with confidence and gladness, whether the heart is full or empty then the words of the Holy Scripture will have to be the solid basis of our prayer. For this we need the psalms… -- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free! Rolling as a Mighty ocean In its fullness over me!
Underneath me, all around me, Is the current of thy love Leading onward, leading homeward To thy glorious rest above!
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus, Spread His praise from shore to shore! How He loveth, ever loveth; Changeth never, nevermore!
How He watches o-er His loved ones Died to call them all His own; How for them He intercedeth Watcheth oer them from the throne!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus, Love of every love the best! Tis an ocean vast of blessing Tis a haven sweet of rest!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus, Tis a heaven of heavens to me; And it lifts me up to glory, For it lifts me up to Thee!
