25 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS 25 IB MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAM The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (MYP) is designed for students aged 11 to 16. 26 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS 26 PRE-KINDERGARTEN PGCPS expanded its PRE-K program by an ADDITIONAL 91 classes this year PGCPS is responsible for opening 321 Pre-K classrooms in the past five years The number of students entering kindergarten fully prepared has increased by 23% according to the States school readiness report

27 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS 27 PARENT INVOLVEMENT EVERY SCHOOL has a Parent Liaison and Parent Resource Center PGCPS hired 107 new Pupil Personnel Workers (PPWs) and 221 Parent Liaisons These professionals join with other support personnel to coordinate services for students, families, and schools

28 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS 28 STUDENT SERVICES HIGHLIGHTS This School Year… Pupil Personnel Workers will work with parents and community organizations to increase student attendance by 5% annually and increase the on-time graduation rate of all students 80% of parents and children will complete an annual Individual Learning Plan with their school counselor to support student development and progress toward goals

29 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS 29 LITTER FREE SCHOOLS PGCPS has Litter Free Schools partnership with Keep Prince Georges County Beautiful and ABITIBI Consolidated, Inc. This school year, all PGCPS elementary schools and administration buildings will begin a clean paper recycling program Middle and high schools will be litter free by the end of the school year
