1 What are the S, T, and E in STEM? How are they related?

2 S, T and E: What do they mean? In your small groups: Discuss and write down working definitions of science, technology and engineering.

4 Reflect and Process Create a visual representation of the relationship between these three field (science, technology, and engineering) by: Choosing a technology at your table. Describing the engineers role in developing the technology. Identifying the science knowledge that the engineers needed to use to develop that technology.

5 Where do science and technology fit into the EDP?

6 Science and engineering are the same thing. Science and engineering are mutually exclusive fields. Engineering is a branch of science. Engineers fix cars/drive trains/work on computers/etc. Technology is only computers or things that use electricity. Some common ideas about science, engineering, and technology:
