1 FY2012 demonstration experiments: Marine products information (Overview) Demand for the guaranty of food safety and security is increasing since the Great East Japan Earthquake. In light of such circumstances, implantation of a traceability system that includes safety and security information in the marine products industry, which is one of the major industries in the affected areas. For this reason, create data standards required for distribution and coordination of data that are generated in each stage of production and processing companies, distributors, restaurants and retailers, and consumers, and develop and demonstrate the mechanism that achieves marine products traceability utilizing the Information Circulation and Sharing Platform Common API. Implementing body: IBM Japan, Ltd. Coordinating bodies: Kuji Fishery Cooperative, Sanriku Yamada Fishery Cooperative, fish processing companies (Saga Shoten, Kitasanriku Ten-nen Shijo), logistics operator (Yamato Transport), Retailers (Passport), other [Data dealt in this demonstration (Examples)] Marine products attribute information Attribute information relating to natural products, farm-raised products, seafood processing products. [Examples] Product name, embodiment, harvest method, landing port, landing date, processing method, date of manufacture, etc. Safety Information Test items (radioactivity, bacterial count, etc.), test date, test results, etc. Logistics Information Information related to cargo. [Examples ] Ship-to, ship date, shipped from, EPC code, shipment tracking code, temperature history information, etc. Evaluation information Evaluation of taste and freshness, comments, etc. Other, value-added information Recipe information, connoisseur information, etc. Consumers Restaurants / Retailers Logistics operators Production / Processing Companies Natural products Farm-raised products ID Seafood processed products ID (EPC*) Logistics Information Evaluation information Marine products attribute information Safety information Information Circulation and Sharing Platform Common API Evaluation information, communications with consumers, etc. Marine products traceability system Evaluation information Marine products attribute information, safety information, logistics information, evaluation information, value-added information, communications with production and processing companies (Logistics operators) (Restaurants, retailers, consumers) (Production and processing companies) Value-added information Open Data *EPC stands for Electronic Product Code. An identification code system for the purpose of individual-item management established by the EPC Global, an international standardization organization. Cooperation with ucode that is used as a common API data standard is one of the demonstration experiment challenges.
Enables input, display and communication of evaluation information in collaboration with Facebook and Twitter. (The photo shows what appears when Twitter's "Tweet" button is pressed.) Evaluation information, etc. Shows information by reading the tag QR code and the like with a handheld device. 2 Moves to the image on the right by scrolling down [Achievements and Issues] Based on the common API specification, succeeded in building and implementing APIs and data standard (vocabulary, etc.) in the marine products area, and verified their effectiveness for the utilization of the traceability system that includes information related to safety and security information. Succeeded in examining the effectiveness of coordinating the ucode (standardized internationally by ITU) used as identification codes of the common API data standard and distribution codes (EPC) (standardized internationally by EPCglobal). Studies will continue for the possibilities of commercialization in lights of the results.
