2 2 How to complete the Live@edu Evaluation The Live@edu Evaluation consists of 10 multiple choice questions to test your knowledge and what you have learned during the training course. Select the correct answer from the three answers marked A, B, and C, and write down your answer. Select only one answer for each question. The instructor will provide you with the correct answer before moving on to the next question. Good luck!

3 3 Evaluation 1. What is the best way to send an email to your entire class? Enter the email addresses of each of your students and send the email. Create a group email address for your class and send an email to the group. Send a separate email to each of your students. Answer: Create a group for your class and send an email to the group. Creating a group means you can send e-mail messages to a group of people rather than send individual emails or have to enter email addresses into the To field.

4 4 Evaluation 2. What do you use when you want to reply to the sender of an email and include everyone else listed in the To and Cc fields? Reply All Reply Forward Answer: Reply All Use Reply All when you want to reply to everyone who received the email. Exercise discretion when you use Reply All, especially when there are large numbers of people who will receive your reply.

5 5 Evaluation 3. If you want to send an email to someone else who wasnt originally listed in the To or Cc fields, what should you do? Send a new email Forward the email Reply to the email and replace the original sender with the new recipient Answer: Forward the email When you forward an email you specify the people in the To and Cc fields. The forwarded email will automatically include any attachments that arrived with the original email. If you simply reply to an email and replace the original sender with a new recipient then any attachments wont be included.

6 6 Evaluation 4. Why would you use Windows Live Messenger to communicate? To communicate with students when the Internet connection is down To check if a contact is available online and to chat instantly To send out homework assignments quickly to your entire class Answer: To check if a contact is available online and to chat instantly Use Windows Live Messenger to check the online status of one of your contacts and send instant messages. Its great to use if you need an immediate response, or want to get in touch quickly. You can chat simultaneously with up to 20 contacts. For larger groups you can use email, or post information to the standard collaboration tools e.g., Windows Live Spaces or Office Live Workspace.

Just your PC Any PC located at the school Almost any PC or mobile device connected to the Internet Answer: Almost any PC or mobile device connected to the Internet Uploading content to Windows Live SkyDrive means that the content can be accessed from almost any PC or mobile device connected to the Internet. This means its perfect for sharing files with students and colleagues.

By setting permissionsthat specify who can see your space and leave comments By emailing your friends with a link to your space It is not possible to change who can see your space and leave comments Answer: By setting permissionsthat specify who can see your space and leave comments Decide who can see your space created using Windows Live Spaces and leave comments by changing the permissions. You can select everyone, your network or extended network, or you can enter individual names or email addresses.

To chat To save files online in one place and be able to work on them online To organize activities Answer: To save files online in one place and be able to work on them online Use Office Live Workspace to view and share password-protected files such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and even work together on the same files in real time.

By writing the appointment in a planner By sending out an email with the suggested time By scheduling the appointment in the Calendar and setting a reminder time Answer: By scheduling the appointment in the Calendar and setting a reminder time Use either Outlook Live or Windows Live Hotmail to schedule appointments in the Calendar and set a reminder so you do not forget. The Calendar can be accessed online from any PC or mobile device.

Microsoft Word, and then post it to Windows Live SkyDrive Windows Live Writer, and then post it to Windows Live Spaces Windows Live Messenger, and then post it to Windows Live Groups Answer: Windows Live Writer, and then post it to Windows Live Spaces Windows Live Writer is a full set of tools for blogging on Windows Live Spaces and your other favourite blogging sites.

14 14 Evaluation Whats next? So what should you do next to keep practicing and get the most out of Live@edu services? Here are some suggestions: In Windows Live SkyDrive, set up appropriate folders for each of your classes. Create groups and workspaces for student projects and collaboration. Send an email to students with the link to SkyDrive and your groups or workspace. Encourage students to set up their own SkyDrive and share the link. Post homework, assignments and useful material online so that all students can access them from anywhere. Remember there are many ways to use Live@edu services to communicate and collaborate – use the services that work best for you and your students.
