8 November, 2004 Scope and Purpose Scope: This project will define a 24 GHz, and above, alternative PHY clause for a higher data rate amendment to Standard Purpose: This standard is for a millimeter-wave based alternative PHY that can achieve higher data rate transmission, higher frequency re-usage and superior coexistence than the existing wireless systems. Multiple data rates will be offered. One optional data rate will be greater than 2Gbps, to satisfy an evolutionary set of consumer multi-media industry needs for WPAN communications. Reed Fisher, Oki

9 SG3c PAR and 5 Criteria Approval
November, 2004 SG3c PAR and 5 Criteria Approval The SG3c PAR, 04/250r5, and 5 Criteria, 04/251r3, documents were approved in SG3c on November 16th. The ballot outcome was: Yes: 22 No: 0 Abstain: 4 Reed Fisher, Oki
