The ramifications Know: –Student capabilities –Student needs –Instructor capabilities –Hardware configurations –Network connectivity in a variety of locations

The Students Literacy level Computer literacy level What do they want to learn? Preferred learning styles Level of self-directedness
The Instructors Cultural sensitivity issues Computer literacy Knowledge of online instructional techniques Willingness
Hardware, Software, Connectivity Does the student have what is needed? If not, can it be obtained? Will it work in that location?
Platforms Web-CT Blackboard Elluminate AOL, MSN, Yahoo Messenger Lotus Notes Etc. etc. etc...
