2 What is required by the applications?
<month year> doc.: IEEE <doc#> November 2005 What is required by the applications? Uncompressed HD video (e.g. HDMI): Approximately 3 Gbps Fast download 2-3 desired Gbps (the higher the better) Point-to-point fixed links: (e.g. Fiber replacement) 2-3Gbps desired (the higher the better) Other applications Alireza Seyedi, Philips <author>, <company>

<month year> doc.: IEEE <doc#> November 2005 What does TG3c PAR say? 13. SCOPE OF PROPOSED PROJECT This project will define a 25 to 100 GHz (millimeter wave) alternative PHY clause for a higher data rate amendment to Standard This frequency range allows for the USA and Japanese unlicensed allocations and expected unlicensed allocations in other countries. Data rates will be at least 1 Gbps under normal operating conditions with a typical range no less than 10 meters. 21. ADDITIONAL EXPLANATORY NOTES The Call for Applications (CFAs) responses collected by study group c over the past several months indicate an evolutionary market developing for a group of applications that will not be addressed by For example, high data rates of more than 2Gbps will be required for simultaneous time dependent applications such as multiple HDTV video streams without sacrificing the requirements for low complexity and low power consumption. <month year> doc.: IEEE <doc#> November 2005 What should we do? Motion: Set the required “PHY-SAP Payload bit rate” per channel in the Selection Criteria ( ) and System Requirements ( ) documents: Mandatory: At least one mode >=2Gbps Optional: 3Gbps Moved: A.
