House To House
1 st Century Fellowship (Acts 2:46) Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, (Acts 5:42) And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.
Do We Need To Imitate THIS? Selling and Sharing (44-45) –This met the financial needs for food and shelter of the saints in the area. –If there were a such a great need today, we could imitate this practice. House To House (46) –This met the need of growing their spiritual family relationships. –This met the need of growing their spiritual knowledge. –This met the need of sharing the gospel with others. House To House needs DO exist today.
Applying Acts 2:46 Day by Day –This was in addition to their worship. breaking bread –Common meals house to house –Personal Property –Not the whole church; it wouldnt fit! gladness and sincerity of heart –Spirit and attitude present during these times. How Christians DID NOT Use Their Houses Not For Gossip –(1 Timothy 5:13) At the same time they also learn to be idle, as they go around from house to house; and not merely idle, but also gossips and busybodies, talking about things not proper to mention.
