13 The best environmental choice in seafood 17.4 On-site evaluation – practical steps 1.Opening meeting 2.Collect information on management system 3.Walk around, carry out interviews to check how it works in reality 4.Carry out tests to verify if the system works such as a traceback and a mass balance calculation

14 The best environmental choice in seafood 17.4 On-site evaluation – practical steps Use of non-certified fish Verify that the client complies with the ecolabel licensing agreement for the use of the MSC trademarks on packaging, including when non-certified seafood is used that it is used to a maximum of 5% of the total seafood content of the final product

16 17.6 Certification decision Certificate information Refer to the MSC website for the scope PLUS (optional): scope schedule PLUS (if relevant): under-MSC-assessment schedule MSC requires information recorded on database within 10 days of certification decision being taken Client shall advise certifier if it wishes to extend its scope (§ 17.7 and Annex BD) The best environmental choice in seafood

21 The best environmental choice in seafood 7.4 Suspension and withdrawal Suspension and withdrawal of certificates – Revision of clauses previously in TAB Dir 16 – Specific clauses relating to handling CoC certificates (7.4.4, 7.4.6, 7.4.10).

22 The best environmental choice in seafood 7.4 Suspension and Withdrawal Cause of suspension happens Certificate is suspended – Recorded on MSC website; MSC notified of possible threats to supply chain – Certificate holder inform its clients – Company stops selling or claiming MSC certification Corrective action plan is requested with binding timeframe Corrective actions are verified by CAB Certificate is reinstated – Enhanced surveillance frequency

23 The best environmental choice in seafood 7.4 Suspension and Withdrawal Certificate is withdrawn if – Corrective action plan is not provided – If corrective actions are not effective Certificate is immediately withdrawn if – Company sells non-MSC certified fish as MSC for the second time during life of certificate 7.4.6.4
