5 Academic registration for the first year Bachelors degree (Licence in France) is possible for people with a valid degree (a B.A.C. in France, its equivalent is the Gaokao) There is no selection process, anyone with the appropriate degree is automatically accepted into the first year Bachelors degree/Licence. In the event that a person does not hold the necessary degree, we recommend that registration be withheld Program Admission

12 The Masters Degree, which is divided into two years of teaching and courses, is designed to focalize the field of study, hence allowing the student to specialize in a specific field of psychology. The two years of the Masters Degree (M1 et M2) are each divided into two semesters (S1, S2, S3,S4). All students having obtained their Bachelor Degree in Psychology from any French university are immediately granted admission to the first year of the Masters Degree in Psychology. For international students who did not study in France, admission to the first year Masters Degree is awarded once a board of admissions has examined the candidates complete application. Note that the successful completion of the first Masters year does not guarantee ones admission to the second year of the Masters program. Masters Degree in Psychology

13 Admission to the 2 nd year Masters Degree (M2) is granted on the basis of the strength of the candidates application. WARNING : places are limited. The selection process for admission into M2 : without a doubt it is a serious barrier to be overcome for students – even after 4 years of studying psychology this 5 th year is necessary in order to obtain the legal right to practice as a licensed psychologist. In addition, it is also possible for students who have been awarded the Masters Degree to apply for the Doctoral Degree. Henceforth, they can obtain the title of Doctor of Psychology, once this additional three year program has been achieved. To obtain the title of Doctor of Psychology: research work in a research group and completion of a doctoral thesis from the University of Strasbourg. From there, one may pass a test to become « Maître de Conférences » and then another to become a « University Professor». Thereafter, one will be able to teach a university course whilst simultaneously conducting research. Alternatively, one may pass a test entitled « Chercheur » (Researcher) from a public institution (ex.CNRS), this opens the possibility of being recruited by a private enterprise. 14 Loi n° 85-772 du 25 juillet 1985 A person is legally authorized to use the title of Psychologist only once they have obtained the necessary degrees: A Bachelors Degree (Licence) in psychology and the two year Masters Degree in psychology, as well as a professional internship of at least 500 hours (since 2005). Or a French diploma recognized by law as being equivalent to the abovementioned conditions. Or a diploma from outside of France recognized as equivalent by the minister responsible of higher education. 16 Objectives Specializes in preparing and training students in all aspects of clinical psychology. Aims to provide applicable skills and knowledge needed to work as a psychologist with children, teenagers and adults. (ex: psychotherapies, psychological tests and evaluations, diagnosis, institutional analysis, analysis of professional practices, etc.) Possible areas of practice Those who hold this degree can work in the following areas of practice: Associations and institutions Public sectors: hospitals and judiciary sectors Health and social services Private practice Masters Degree: Psychopathology and Clinical Psychology

17 Objectives Trains students to become specialists in the fields of early childhood and handicaps, in order to enable them to become professionals who practice in social, medical and socio-medical institutions. Possible areas of practice Those who hold this degree can work in the following areas of practice : Institutions Hospitals and public health services Related areas Masters Degree in Developmental Psychology: Evolution, involution and handicap

18 Objectives Capacity to easily recognize and solve problems related to the management of Human Resources, personnel improvements and organization, management of institutional changes, prevention work and the security and well being of the personnel. 19 Objectives Assures a high quality training in Clinical Neuropsychology Clinical : learn in detail how to pass neurological evaluations with patients suffering from cerebral lesions (dementia, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, cranial trauma, cardiac arrest, cerebral tumors,…) Participate in neuropsychological research Possible areas of practice Those who hold this degree can work in the following areas of practice: Hospitals (neurology, psychiatry, gerontology, oncology,…) Health centers Re-education and re-adaptation centers Masters Degree in Clinical Cognitive Neuropsychology
