2. Our project
Laura, Maddie, Christie and Amy, for our S.O.S.E project chose to do ‘The Bright Light Project’ This is the name that we gave our project.
We are trying to reduce the school’s power consumption by encouraging classes to turn off lights, air conditioners and fans when they are not in the classroom.

4. Informing
Our group recently spoke on assembly to all the students about our scheme to reduce our school’s energy consumption.

5. Informing
We put up posters in every classroom to remind teachers and students to turn off their lights, air conditioners and fans when they leave their classrooms.

6. Implementing
We are going to check classrooms during lunch time two times each week. We will enter in our diary whether the classroom had its lights, air conditioners and fans switched off.

Each month we will give certificates to the classes that have been energy savers.
At the end of each term, each student in the most energy-saving classes will be given a treat.

8. Why we choose our project
Our group chose to do this project because we noticed that in many classrooms the lights, air conditioners and fans were going when there was no one in the room.
We think that saving electricity in our school will help reduce the impact our school has on our local environment and also save the school money on its power bills.

9. What we hope to achieve
Our group’s vision is for future generations to have a world like we do now so we want to reduce the school’s impact on the environment so that people living in the future can enjoy life like we do now.
