1 From: β-Catenin/CBP–Dependent Signaling Regulates TGF-β–Induced Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition of Lens Epithelial Cells Invest. Ophthalmol. Vis. Sci ;57(13): doi: /iovs Figure Legend: Effect of inhibition of β-catenin/CBP–dependent signaling by ICG-001 on TGF-β–induced EMT of lens explants. (A) Untreated, ICG-only, TGF-β2–only, and TGF-β2– and ICG-001-treated lens explants were immunostained for fascin and α-SMA. Slides were imaged using ×40 lens of Zeiss Apotome microscope and analyzed using Zeiss Zen software. Scale bar: 100 μm. (B) Western blot analysis for fascin, α-SMA, and GAPDH was carried out using protein lysates extracted from untreated, ICG-treated, TGF-β2–treated, and TGF-β2– and ICG-001-treated lens explants. (C) Densitometric quantification of α-SMA indicating fold reduction in α-SMA expression normalized to untreated lens explants (n = 3, **P < 0.005, ***P < ).
