2 This amendment defines a PHY layer enabling the use of the MHz band in India. The supported data rate should be at least 40 kbits per second and the typical Line of Sight (LOS) range should be on the order of 5 km using omni directional antennae. Included are any channel access and/or timing changes in the MAC necessary to support this PHY layer. Jul 12, 2010 07/12/10 TG3f PAR Scope 5.2.b. Scope of the project: Extend the RF channelization of the millimeter wave PHY to allow for use of the spectrum up to 71 GHz. ----- Meeting Notes (17/01/ :38) ----- Replace 1st paragraph with context for TVWS Slide 2 Slide 2 Page 2

3 07/12/10 Jul 12, 2010 Purpose The purpose of this standard is to provide for low complexity, low cost, low power consumption, and high data rate wireless connectivity among devices that support a variety of applications such as a set of consumer multimedia industry needs, wireless switched point-to-point applications in data centers, wireless backhaul/fronthaul intra-device communications, and a wide variety of additional use cases such as rapid large multimedia data downloads and file exchanges between two devices in close proximity, including between mobile devices and stationary devices (kiosks, ticket gates, etc.), and/or wireless data storage devices.
