10 Speaking: Work together with your partner. Take turns asking for and giving advice. Look at some situations I give you, then make a dialogue and act it out.

11 Situation Student A Student B 1 You want to buy a CD for your friend’s birthday, but you are not sure what to buy. Ask your partner to give some suggestions. Your partner needs your advice. Please help him or her to make a decision.

12 Example: JOE: Hi Susan! Can you help me decide what to buy for Peter’s birthday? SUSAN: Sure. What do you have in mind? JOE: Well, Peter loves music, so I thought I would give him a CD. SUSAN: That’s a great idea! What kind of music does he like? _________________ ___________________________

15 Situation Student A Student B 3 Your partner needs your advice. Please help him or her to decide what to do. Your classmates have asked you to pick a special song that will represent your class. It should be a song that everybody likes and that shows the spirit of your class. Ask your partner to help you.
