3 Please Don’t Forget a Daily Snack!
When you pack your child’s snack, keep in mind that it needs to be disposable, dry, and healthy (no liquids or sugary junk food). Do not send snacks that require your child to peel, cut, or use a spoon. Great snacks could be: pretzels, fruit, fruit snacks, crackers, chips, etc. If you would like to send extra snacks to share, we welcome them for students that may forget their snacks!

4 Attendance Everyday is an important learning day. When your child misses school they miss out on their learning. Please have your child in school on time, and keep them in school until the school day is over. Thank you for your help with this!

5 Behavior Plan We follow the school-wide ROAR rules: Respect Everyone, Obey Rules, Act Responsibly, and Remember Safety! Each day your child will receive a sticker. This signifies that they obeyed rules and did their work. If there is an issue they will not receive a sticker, and I will write you a note about their behavior.

6 PAWSative Character Traits
Each month your child will be working towards showing a PAWSative character trait. At the end of each month the class will vote for a student that has shown the PAWStive character trait. The PAWSative character student will receive a treat from the office along with a certificate.

7 U - Well Below Expectations
Grades E- Excellent Your child shows outstanding performance and excellent achievement above and beyond. S- Successful Your child has successfully learned concepts and skills. N- Needs Assistance Your child is progressing but needs assistance to complete tasks at the expected level. U - Well Below Expectations Your child has made little or no progress in their learning. Your child is working well below expectations.

8 Homework A homework packet and reading log will go home on Friday. It should be completed and returned the following Friday. Your child should read for 30 minutes every day and record on the reading log. The purpose of homework is to give your child extra practice on skills being taught in class. If you don’t notice a packet on Friday, please let me know as soon as possible, so I can get you another copy.

9 IRLA Steps Your child will earn 1 point for every 15 minutes read.
After reading for 30 minutes in school, and reading 30 minutes at home, your child will earn 4 points a day. Every quarter there will be a reading celebration for those students that have earned enough steps.
