Patients first present their case to the IAV (Institute for Asbestos Victims) who collect data and pathology specimen which are sent to the NMP (Netherlands Mesothelioma Panel) for pathologic evaluation. When no diagnosis can be made based on the available histological or cytological specimen all available data are sent to the Mesothelioma Group (MG).
