Barotrauma in ARDS. A: Chest radiograph demonstrates diffuse lung consolidation secondary to ARDS. Parenchymal stippling is present, with lucent perivascular halos secondary to pulmonary interstitial emphysema. B: On chest radiograph 4 days later, pneumomediastinum is now identified with extensive subcutaneous emphysema.
