3 Every story has a plot line
Every story has a plot line. Create your stories plot line to use as a graphic organizer. Day 1 climax resolution rising action Plot Line complication introduces the conflict protagonist's life is in a state of order and calm something happens to disrupt that order

5 Revising Word Choice Day 3
In our reading like a writer book report we paid attention to how writer’s use word choice to add voice to their writing and to help their reader follow the writing in their heads. Go through your story and highlight the verb in each sentence. Use the thesaurus to make your verbs stronger. You should have at least 10 strong verbs in your narrative. Day 3

6 Revising Organization
Day 4 As we know we can make or break our piece in the beginning paragraph. Our introduction needs to hook the reader. Ideas to Help Hook Our Reader start later in the story then go back to the beginning at an interesting or exciting part near the climax don’t give away to much start in a conversation start in the midst of some action start with the writer or a character talking directly to the reader See :

7 Day 5 Revising Word Choice (continued)
1. Go through your story and highlight the adverbs. Use the thesaurus to make your adverbs stronger. (use a different colour) You should have at least 5 adverbs in your narrative. 2. Go through your story and highlight the adjectives. Use the thesaurus to make your verbs stronger. (again use a new colour) You should have at least 5 adjectives in your narrative.

8 Day 6 Revising Word Choice (continued some more)
As we know figures of speech add not only to word choice but the general voice of a piece. Circle any figures of speech that you used in your piece. Label what they are. ex) simile, hyperbole, idiom. You should have at least 3 figures of speech in your piece.

9 Revising Organization
Day 7 Our conclusion should be memorable. Ideas to Help Make Our Piece Memorable dramatic event happy ending question go back to the beginning moral or lesson quote state a theme

10 Day 8 Taking Care of Conventions I have correct end punctuation.
I have used capital letters correctly. I have spelled common words correctly & am close with difficult ones. I have used standard grammatical structures I have included internal punctuation. I have properly paragraphed dialogue. I have used connectors properly.

11 final revision and editing
Slides are what we focused on for this piece but as always all of the writing traits are equally important and will be included on the final rubric. CONTENT I have selected a specific topic. My ideas are on topic. My ideas are explained with good details. ORGANIZATION My ideas are in a logical order. I used transitions. My ideas are grouped in paragraphs. I have a clear conclusion that makes my piece memorable. VOICE My writing is interesting to my audience. I made clear that I know what I am writing about. I have shown personality in my writing. SENTENCE STRUCTURE I have a variety of sentence types. I have a variety of sentence structures. I have a variety of sentence lengths. I have a variety of sentence beginnings.
