1 Temptation! Matthew 4:1-11

2 4 :1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”

3 5 Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning You’; and ‘On their hands they will bear You up, So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’” 7 Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

4 8 Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; 9 and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’” 11 Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him.

5 You are going to be tempted!

6 Be prepared to fight temptation!
Be filled with the Spirit. The battle is won or lost before the battle is started. Read your Bible, pray every day…

7 Know the forms of temptation.
Gold? Girls/Guys? Glory? His Kingdom come, my Kingdom go.

8 Jesus ordeal. It is written. To God be the glory.
What was the real temptation here? Have faith in the Father’s plan! 1 John 4:1 2 Corinthians 11:14 Philipians 2:10-11

9 The root of temptation. Temptation lives in anything that robs God of glory and temptation lives in anything that is not part of his plan for us. Philippians 2:12 To avoid temptation we must remain in God’s will at all times and in all things we do, think or say.

10 Easy right! 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 Get help and be helpful!
1 Thessalonians 5:12-14 Galatians 6:1-2 Ephesians 4:15-16 1 Peter 1:22

11 Be 100% committed to growing the Kingdom.
9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. 11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread. 12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’

12 For His Kingdom to come... Our Kingdom must go!
Let us have ears of faith and hear only what comes from the mouth of God. Let us have eyes of faith and not put Him to the test. Lets us have a mouth of faith and worship Him only.
