1 Super3 Mini~ Page Project

2 Super3: it’s like a story…
Plan Beginning Do Middle Review End The Super3 is built on a familiar, story-like pattern to make it easy to remember. Just like a story has a beginning, middle and end, the Super3 also has a beginning, middle and end. In the beginning you will “Plan.” In the middle you will “Do” your work and at the end you will “Review” your work. You can use the Super3 - Plan, Do, Review - anytime you have a problem to solve, a task to complete, or a project to do for school. Eisenberg/Robinson ©2007

3 Super3 Sam’s Stages… Meet Super3 Sam - a SUPER problem solver! Sam smiles because he knows the Super3 will help him Plan, Do, and Review his work. Sam can solve many problems when he applies Super3 thinking! Eisenberg/Robinson ©2007

4 Plan: Beginning I think about my task and how I will complete my project. What am I supposed to do? What will a “good job” look like? What information do I need? Where will I get my information? What is my plan? First, Sam can Plan his work. He will think about his task and what he may do next. Let’s read this slide with Sam to understand how to Plan. Eisenberg/Robinson ©2007

5 Do: Middle I do my work. I get the information I need.
I put it all together. I will read, take notes use the computer, and write. I cite my sources. Next, Sam will Do his work. He will find information and put something together. Let’s read this slide with Sam to understand how to Do the work. Eisenberg/Robinson ©2007

6 Review: End I check my work to make sure it is complete.
Is my job done? Did I do what I was supposed to? Did I cite my sources? Do I feel okay about my work? Do I need to do anything else before I turn it in? Finally, Sam will Review his work. He will think about his assignment and check his work. Let’s read this slide with Sam to understand how to Review the work. Eisenberg/Robinson ©2007

7 Super 3 MINI_PAGE My Assignment:
Make a mini~page about any subject that you are interested in learning about and sharing the information with others. Who can tell me what you will do for the assignment? Who has a question to ask about the assignment? Eisenberg/Robinson ©2007

8 New Vocabulary Bibliography or Credits -
A list of materials or sources that are used in the preparation of a work. Resources or Sources – Sources of information on a subject, including nonfiction books, encyclopedias, science magazines or websites. Before we begin, we need to learn some vocabulary words that might help you work on your science project. Eisenberg/Robinson ©2007

9 Plan: Beginning For this project I need to:
Pick a subject and a partner. I will get my information by using: Encyclopedias, books, websites and people The supplies I need are: Research forms, pencils, computers and information about my subject. Let’s see if we know what we’re supposed to do for this project. Who can tell us what we need to do for this project? Where could you get your information? What supplies will you use? 10 Do: Middle Research subject
Read and take notes in your own words from each source Site sources: Write bibliographic information Locate jokes and poems related to subject Use website and books Here’s an example of what the “Do” stage might look like for the science project. And don’t forget to cite your sources. The young scientist who did this experiment is the source of the information Eisenberg/Robinson ©2007

11 Do: Middle Produce Minipage Write general article
Write 2 paragraphs in your own words to teach your reader about your subject. Each paragraph must have 5 sentences Use Google Classroom for you minipage document Type your header with title and your names, add your general article, poem and jokes and cite sources on your bibliography. Produce a web-based puzzle Use puzzle site for production Locate images Use Google Docs for images Locate jokes and poems related to subject Use website and books or make up your own. 13 Review: End I learned: I wonder: I still need to work on:
Did I make a minipage that will teach others about my subject? Yes No Sort of Now we will review our work. What is something you learned? What might you still wonder? What things do you still need to work on? Last, did you find the answer to your research question or did you learn something new about your topic? Eisenberg/Robinson ©2007
