3 A Woman Depicted in a Sexual manner
The product being sold is the Wonderbra. The target audience for this ad are any men who are looking for a serious girlfriend or a wife. The target audience could also be women who are looking to buy a bra. These bras can be expensive so it would also be women who have enough money so, most likely between mid-class and upper class. The message that is being given off of this ad is that the woman who is wearing the Wonderbra is saying that she can’t cook – which guys who are looking for a wife usually ask if women can cook – but also saying “who cares” because most guys would rather have a woman who they consider “sexy” than a woman who can cook. This message isn’t too obvious because men might not automatically think about sex. They might start to think about just having a sexy woman with them. I think that guys will be more attracted to this ad than woman because I agree that guys are more attracted to sexy women than women who can cook. This ad is trying to get women to buy their product though so I don’t agree that this is the perfect ad for this particular product. Some women might look at this though and think that this bra will get lots of guys to not care about if they can cook or not. This ad is appealing to a more biological sense because it makes a man think about sex when they see this. It also makes the woman wearing this bra think that it’ll make a man want to have sex with her. This is a negative portrayal of sexuality because it is making women only want this bra so that guys will have sex with her. It also makes men only want a woman who is sexy, not a woman who can cook.

5 A Man depicted in a sexual manner
The product being sold in this ad is Hemp Soap on a Rope. The target audience that this ad is aiming for could be women – because of the good looking man as the model – or it could be targeting men who want women to find them attractive or think they smell good after using this soap. The message that this ad is giving off is either that a woman using this soap will make a man want her; or if a man uses this they can get a woman to have sex with him. This is obvious because the ad literally says “get your hands on the good stuff” and the man is holding the soap in front of his “good stuff”. I agree that this ad is affective because women who like giving men hand jobs might also want the soap that will be just as good. Men who like getting hand jobs done to them will want this soap because it might feel as good. This ad is more of a biological sense because it makes people think about sex and intimate actions when they see this. I don’t think this is a negative portrayal but it also isn’t a positive portrayal. It isn’t making men or women look like stereotypes, but it also isn’t saying that you won’t get a man or a woman when you buy this soap. This ad is showing people that if you buy this soap, you will either get a man or a woman.

7 A couple depicted in a sexual manner: part 1
The ad is advertising perfume from Kenneth Cole. The target audience for this ad is young men and women between the ages of 18 and late 30’s. The message of this ad is basically telling people to use lots of this perfume and also if you wear this perfume, you will want to have sex with the man or woman who is wearing this fragrance and will want that person to “wear me out” as it says on the ad. This would be obvious to people more mature and who understand sex because the girl doesn’t have a bra on and “wear me out” will make them think that they’re talking about sex. It will not be as obvious to young kids seeing this ad in a magazine they are looking through. I agree with this ad because it does connect well with the perfume part of the ad while also meaning something completely different at the same time. This ad is connecting to a biological sense because it makes most people think about sex because of the man and woman in that position, and the quote shown in front of them. This ad is a more positive portrayal of sexuality because it isn’t giving off any stereotypes for men or women. It is just saying that if you use this fragrance, you will want the person wearing it to have sex with you.

8 A couple depicted in a sexual manner: Part 2
The woman is holding the man’s shirt and pulling it towards her which is also pulling the man towards her. She is not wearing a bra underneath her shirt either. The man is being pulled in towards the girl and is about to kiss her. There is nobody in the foreground. They are at the same angle of the camera. There is no one in the background because they are at the same angle of the camera. Juxtaposition is being used to convey meaning by saying that when the man wears this, he’s going to get a woman to have sex with him so much that he’s going to be worn out by the end. No. Neither of the people are beside an object that send out specific messages. They are both doing the same thing: they are both about to kiss. No one is not active. There is not one person who is more eroticized than the other. They are both in the same position and both have the same look on their face. The message that I receive from this relationship is that they are in a relationship because of lust and because of the perfume they are using.

9 A couple depicted in a Sexual manner: Part 3
It looks like, in this relationship, that the woman has the power because she is the one pulling the man towards her by his shirt. This is a positive depiction of relationships and sexuality because it looks like they have equal power in the relationship therefore, there is nothing wrong with this relationship.

11 A Couple in an egalitarian manner: Part 1
This ad is advertising a Target Wedding Gift Registry. The target audience for this ad would be all couples including gay couples because they would want to buy things for their wedding. Gay couples will feel free to buy stuff too because the ad is supporting it. The message of this ad is that anyone should be able to get married. They wrote on this ad: “Be Yourself Together” so they want to attract every couple to buy a Wedding Gift Registry. I agree and disagree with this message. I agree that it’s a free country and that everyone should be included and be allowed to get married and be together. I also don’t agree because I would never be a part of this type of couple but I am not going to judge them because I believe that everyone should be included. This ad relates to an emotional/physical sense because when people see this ad, they’ll think of love and a positive relationship and lots of people will be made happy by looking at this. This is a positive portrayal of sexuality because this couple looks very happy and in love so there is nothing bad about the way this ad was made.

12 A couple in an egalitarian manner: Part 2
There are no women in this ad. Both men are holding each of their hands with their foreheads leaned in so they’re touching. They are both smiling and in tuxedoes so it looks like they are about to get married or have already gotten married. There is no one in the foreground. There is no one in the background. Juxtaposition is being used in this ad by putting 2 smiling men together and saying that every couple is free to get married, even though they are just selling Target Wedding Gift Registries. The men aren’t beside any objects that send out a different message. Each man is doing the same thing. So, there isn’t just one person who is active. Each man is doing the same thing. So, there isn’t just one person who isn’t active. No there isn’t one person who is more eroticized than the other. They are both smiling. The message I receive from this message is that this couple is very happy because they got a Target Wedding Gift Registry.

13 A couple in an egalitarian manner: part 3
It’s hard to tell who has the power in this relationship because they are both men and they aren’t doing different things in this ad. This is a positive depiction of relationships and sexuality because they are happy and this ad is saying that anyone can get married and should be allowed to as well.
