3 Lets Get Started Start routines DAY 1
Have a bedtime and stick to it 7:30 – 8:30 pm A sleepy kindergartener….. is a grumpy kindergartener!!!!

4 Our school day starts at 7:30 sharp!
TARDIES Matter Our school day starts at 7:30 sharp! From 7:25 – 7:35 children will assemble in the gymnasium. Students should arrive at 7:25 If your child is not in the building by 7:45 he/she will be considered tardy

5 Attendance Matters When your child will be absent for any reason, call the main office and speak with the attendance clerk – at (432) Provide documents for excused absences Take attendance seriously

6 Drop Off Procedures Do not park in the drop off circle
Have your child sit on passenger side Do not get out, teachers will be there to assist children out of vehicle Always pull up to the first available cone to drop off your child

7 Walking Up To SCHOOL If you want to walk your child into the building, park on the street and use crosswalks. Never allow your child to cross the street without assistance. Parents are not allowed to pass the double doors

8 important lunch Information
Kindergarten lunch: You can eat with your child during this time at the class parent table, however no friends are allowed to join you. Allow two weeks at lunch for your child to establish routines with other classmates. If you are more than 10 minutes late, your child must get a tray We are a Nut-Free campus. No peanut products allowed

9 Lunch From Home Make healthy choices Keep the sugar low
Be sure they can open everything Label lunch box Put money on account in case of emergency Snacks for the classroom are greatly appreciated!

10 Put it in an envelope or zip lock bag and send it in their folder
Lunch From school Lunch is $2.50 per day Send lunch money on the first day of school even if they bring their own lunch in case of emergencies Put it in an envelope or zip lock bag and send it in their folder Always label it clearly with child's name, teachers name and “lunch money” to avoid confusions of your intention. This is very important any time you send money for any reason. Please clearly label your intent. Your child may only eat for three days on a negative account – then will may be offered an alternative lunch

15 Pick-Up Procedures 2016

16 Unexpected Changes If there is an unexpected change in picking up your student, call the office immediately!!! The offices main number is (432) If you know ahead of time, please send a detailed note in your child's folder Whoever is picking them up MUST have the blue card. If not they will be required to go the office and show I.D.

17 Getting Ready For Kindergarten
We have P.E. 3 days a week and recess every day. Have a good pair of tennis shoes for your kindergartener. Sandals often fall off or cause blisters during these activities . Practicing tying shoes is crucial!!!!! Learning how to hold a pencil Recognizing and writing name Talk about the importance of school Try to not be tardy. Students should be here by 7:25

18 First Day Of School…....For Parents
It is good to make this day seem special! It is! Feel free to take pictures When the time comes….. Don’t linger! Smile, say goodbye and leave. Hold back those tears! Be on time to pick them up! They will be excited to share their big day!!!!!!!

19 Important Dates August 21st – First day of School
September 4th – Labor Day – No School September – Fall Pictures September – Donuts with Dad September – PTA/Open House

20 Student Information Form
Things I need to know…… Does your child go by a middle name or nick name? What will be the pick up method for Day 1? Day 2? Day3? Day 4? Day 5? What will be the primary pick up method after the first week of school? Will your child mostly be bringing a packed lunch or eating from the cafeteria? Does your child have any allergies? Do you give permission for your child to be photographed and posted within our classroom and school halls? List any s where you would like to receive information from the teacher.
