3 Deadlines and submission
The deadline for the final portfolio is Tues 10th Dec by 2pm Your final portfolio should be submitted via the RRR group page (see ‘submit a page’ bar at the bottom of the group) NOTE: Once you have submitted you will not be able to edit the page YOU MUST also submit your source commentary via Turnitin (dropbox on moodle)

4 Checklist The portfolio MUST contain
A copy of your source or a WORKING link to it Your source commentary Your hypothesis Your bibliography (minimum of ten items) Your reflective journal You will also receive marks for any additional material and effective use of Mahara Don’t forget to submit the source commentary via Turnitin too.

5 Late work A reminder that work submitted late is subject to severe penalties Work submitted up to 7 days later than the deadline is capped at 40% Work submitted after this point will receive no mark If your work is going to be submitted late because of illness or other serious mitigating circumstances, you need to fill out a mitigating circumstances form:

6 The source Make sure you have given as much info as possible about where you have got your source from (edition if it is a modern translation/transcription, page no’s, website) If you are linking to a copy of your source, make sure that link works If you are commenting on a portion of a much longer work, be clear what extract you are commenting on.

7 The source commentary Should be around 1500 words in length (excluding footnotes) Should be an analysis of the source, directed by your hypothesis, not a mini-essay or simply a description of it. Your analysis should be supported by reference to other related primary sources and to the relevant scholarship on that topic.

8 The bibliography Must be correctly formatted – you will lose marks if not. See the week 4 block and the referencing guide on moodle for further guidance on presenting the bibliography appropriately. Make sure the works you list are relevant to your topic and appropriate for degree-level study (so no websites with ‘school’ in the URL) Use the library and subscription-only electronic resources, not just Google.

9 The journal Should reflect on what you have learnt during the module both in terms of independent study and in-class work Should be around 1500 words in length. May be reasonably informal (‘I’) but should be thoroughly checked for spelling/grammatical errors Does not need to describe everything you have done, only the exercises/experiences you have found most significant

10 Before submission check…
That your work is free from spelling and grammatical errors That your bibliography is ordered alphabetically by author surname (or first letter of item title if that is not available) That all the necessary items of the portfolio are on your Mahara page and are visible That you have referenced your work appropriately

11 Feedback Feedback will be delivered via Turnitin (within two weeks of deadline) Provisional marks will also be released at a later date via Turnitin
