1 Welcome to Key Stage 1!

2 Key Stage 1 There are two classes: Year 1 Diamonds Year 2 Rubies Teachers: Miss Brooks, Miss Lord Support Staff: Mrs Bryant, Mrs Mendes, Mrs Risby, Miss Hart, Mrs Turton, Mrs Pickett

3 School Uniform Black or grey trousers, dress or skirt
White shirt, blouse or school polo neck Red school jumper or red cardigan Black shoes, white, black or grey socks - NO JEWELLERY NO TRAINERS (or trainer-like shoes) Becky

4 PE KIT Mondays & Thursdays Needs to be in school all week. Taken home to be washed at the weekend. School red t-shirt Black shorts Black plimsolls Emily

5 Homework Maths This is sent home on a Thursday and is due back on a Monday. Spellings These are sent home on a Friday and the children are tested the following Friday. Reading Please aim to read with your child daily. Children choose an activity to complete each week. We will change the books in school once a week and more if we can. Jackie

6 Homework Reading Record Books For parents to record when they have read with their child. Yellow Homework Book For recording any homework the children might like to do about their book. See prompt sheet to help. Phonics Sometimes we will send extra sounds home to learn to help the children consolidate what they are learning in school. Jackie

7 What can you do at home? Handwriting Phonics – sounds of the alphabet
Counting to 20, chanting Number bonds to 10, 20 Days of the week Using a ruler Getting changed independently Look at your class page to find out more! Becky

8 The School Day & Before Please ensure that your child does not play on the equipment before an after school. Bikes and scooters are to be walked off the premises. In the morning, please feel free to come in and settle your child but we do shut the door at 8.50am to take the register. School finishes at 3.15pm and teachers will dismiss the children. Arrange to meet us if you have any queries. Becky
