6 What was the problem with Bassanio?
How did Antonio help him? What’s the agreement between Antonio and Shylock? What news did Bassanio receive? He wanted to marry Portia but didn’t have money. He lent him 3000 ducats, which he borrowed from Shylock. If he failed to pay back the money at the end of three months, Shylock could cut a pound of his flesh from whatever part of his body. Antonio had lost all his ships and would have to give Shylock a pound of his flesh.

9 The Ending Who won the trial?
How did Portia stop Shylock from cutting Antonio’s flesh? What was Shylock charged with(控告)? What was the punishment of Shylock? Antonio won the trial. Shylock had to cut a pound of Antonio’s flesh without letting one drop of blood fall. Trying to murder Antonio. One half of his money and his goods went to the city of Venice and he made a promise to Antonio to leave his money upon his death to his daughter.

10 Thinking Why did Antonio make Shylock leave his money to his daughter and her husband? Because Jessica married one of his friend against Shylock’s will. 2. Why did Shylock hate Antonio so? Because he was a Jew and he was discriminated and persecuted for his race and religious belief.

There is something else. Antonio has promised to give you a pound of his flesh. But he has not promised to give you any of his blood. If you let one drop of his blood fall, you will lose all your land and all your money. You must cut off one pound of flesh, no more, no less. And not one drop of blood must fall. Clever Back
