3 Defining Purpose (Our why)

5 Purpose: The five questions:
What are my gifts and talents? What do you naturally do well? What do you do so well you could teach others? What do other people say you’re good at? What do others ask you for help with? What makes you feel good? What one thing or things have you done that make you feel really good? What things warm your heart? What makes you smile? What would you regret not fully doing, being, or having in life? What cause or causes stir up something in you? What issues do you hear of and immediately want to get involved? 6 Setting goals and remaining accountable

7 Setting goals: Start with why.
What is your goal and the reason for wanting to achieve it? Intrinsic vs Extrinsic Motivation/Why Poor reasons for setting goals: More Money- Hitting a financial target will not make you happy To show off Need a bigger house/ new car etc. Great Reasons For Setting Goals I want to leave a legacy I want to set a great example for my children I want to be able to leave my 9 to 5 job to spend more time with my family I want to align with my own core values Sharnikya Howard, Purpose Coach t: (240) "Life truly starts the moment you identify your purpose.”

8 Setting goals that stick
Identify the goal (Financial, Personal, etc.) Break it down into smaller chunks [Purpose Driven Increments] These are smaller more manageable chunks Identify who can help and what would get in the way– Focus on the resources that are available currently, the resources that need to be secured, and identifying any potential obstacles Accountability – List the action items, assign due dates, and identify accountability partners (people that you trust and respect) Celebrate the wins/accomplishments along the way Sharnikya Howard, Purpose Coach t: (240) "Life truly starts the moment you identify your purpose.”

Steps to Creating Your Personal Mission Statement: 1. Review your answers to ‘The Five Questions’ 2. Look for key themes in your answers to ‘The Five Questions’ and write them down. 3. List everyone that you believe you can help 4. How will those listed above benefit from what you offer? 5. Combine your answers above to craft your mission statement.
