6 Classroom Expectations
What makes up the grades Grades will consist of participation points, warm-up exercises, class work, homework assignments, quizzes, binder and organizer checks, and class projects. Class Rules Follow all school rules. Be on time to class and ready to learn when the bell rings. Listen and be respectful to others that are speaking. Come prepared with class materials.

7 SPHS Attendance Policy
SAN PEDRO HIGH SCHOOL ATTENDANCE POLICY A. A maximum of 7 full day absences/28 TOTAL class period absences are allowed during the current school year. B. At the 8th full day absence and/or 29th class period absence, FOR ANY REASON, the student’s name will appear on the Non-Participation STOP CLEARANCE LIST. .

8 Class Projects Skillbuilding Portfolios
Daily teaching of vocabulary, reading and writing skills. Skills will be reinforced through practice. Culminating project to integrate knowledge of reading, writing, study and research skills. Portfolios Individual student portfolios are an important part of skill building and charting progress towards IEP goals.

10 SPHS Student Dress Code
New Rules for All Students! SPHS Student Dress Code ACCEPTABLE HEAD COVERINGS Students may wear San Pedro caps and beanies. Colors must be black, gold, and/or white only. Fashionable head covering (i.e. berets) must be black, gold, and/or white. Head coverings MAY NOT be worn in classrooms or offices. ACCEPTABLE SHIRTSYoung Women: You may wear Polo Shirts, T-shirts, Blouses (with a full back and NOT sheer), and Tank Tops with straps being 1” or more in width and armholes must end one inch below the armpits. Tummies and cleavage may not be visible! No visible undergarments ever. Young Men: You may wear Polo Shirts, T-shirts, or Tank Tops (never “wife beaters”). Proper button up shirts are highly recommended. ACCEPTABLE PANTS, SHORTS, SKIRTS OR DRESSESYoung Women: You may wear shorts, skirts, or dresses that follow this criteria: Place your hands at your sides. If your short, skirt, or dress goes above the ends of your fingers, then it is too short and violates the dress code. The top portion of your dress must follow the “Acceptable Shirts” section of the Dress Code. Young Men: You may wear shorts or long pants that are neat and appropriate. They must not hang down below your hipbones or show visible undergarments.

ACCEPTABLE FOOTWEAR Young Women and Men: You may wear close-toed shoes, low-heeled shoes. Flip flops are strictly prohibited for your safety! ACCEPTABLE USE OF CELL AND AUDIO DEVICES All Students: Cell phones may be used ONLY during passing periods, nutrition and lunch only. NEVER use these items during class time, whether inside or outside of classroom. Audio/visual devices are not allowed. This includes iPods and cd/mp3 players. Please Note: Cell phones are the responsibility of the student. The school does not take responsibility for stolen items. LOGOS, SYMBOLS, TATTOOS All Students: We understand your individual needs to represent your likes and exercise your freedom of expression. That being said, logos and symbols that depict drugs, alcohol, tobacco, weapons, profanity, racism, or sexual suggestions or art are strict violations of the Dress Code. Tattoos that represent gang affiliations must be covered by clothing.
