What is the purpose of the Executive Branch? Who is the leader of the Executive Branch? Congress created 3 departments to help manage this branch 1) Department of War- handles military affairs 2) Department of State- deals with foreign affairs 3) Department of the Treasury- manages finances Washington chooses the leaders of these Department of War- Henry Knox Department of State- Thomas Jefferson Department of Treasury- Alexander Hamilton

National bank that issued paper money and handled tax receipts and other government funds Is this legal according to the constitution? Leads to numerous debates that results in the Elastic Clause Elastic Clause Gives congress to right to authorize anything that is “necessary and proper”

To win Southern support for his debt plan, Hamilton suggests: Moving the capital from New York City to the south Southerners agreed to support Hamilton's plan and capital was moved to Washington D.C.
