3 Attendance Expectation is 96%
Students are required to do the following: Attend all lessons Be punctual to College and all lessons

4 Attendance First day calling – call or KKS made to inform you of absence. Two weekly update by KKS to inform you of current attendance. 1:1 meetings with Progress tutor to discuss absence and support. Catch up plans with individual teachers in order to support your child Weekly rewards for individuals and groups of students Study support – twice a week after school

5 Attendance Sign in every day using the sign in inventory
If they are aware of an upcoming absence they must fill in an absence request form. If they miss any lessons they must catch up on any work missed. This includes any homework tasks or feedback

6 Attendance Encourage your child to come in.
Contact college to inform of any absence – EXT236 Please don’t book any holidays during term time

8 Guidance The expectation is high and students are required to conduct themselves in a manner that is expected of them and as role models for younger students. Guidance's are monitored through a number of areas Punctuality Standards Learning Homework Out of class

9 Guidance Guidance's are logged by a member of staff. These are reviewed every two weeks by the Sixth Form pastoral/progress team. So what might a guidance look like? Failure to submit homework for a third time, given an extension and offered lunchtime support. Contacted home, 1:1 meeting with student. Compulsory study support issued.

10 Good-Excellent 0-2 within a half term Rewarded – extended lunch, phone calls home, prizes, vouchers STAGE 1 3-5 within a half term or 2+ within one week Action : Progress Tutor Parents informed via phone call/letter - notice to receive no more guidance’s. Removal of Flexible day/issue of study card Two week cycle to improve - If no improvement Progress Tutor to refer to Year mentor STAGE 2 5+ over half term Action by: Year Mentor Parents brought in to discuss commitment 4 week learning contract put in place Referral to Gill Farrell for support If no improvement referred to Mrs Nightingale STAGE 3 No improvement in numbers of Guidance’s logged each week Action by: Mrs Nightingale Parents brought in for second meeting Liaison with staff and external agencies if required. 6 week support plan with individualized targets put in place Final written notice to improve or place at college is at risk STAGE 4 Still no improvement. Action : Mr Boulton and Mrs Nightingale Student supported to alternative education, employment or training

11 Progress As a College we are dedicated in supporting your child to make the best possible progress. All staff will plan for and deliver high quality lessons. Put in additional support either 1:1 or group Remain in contact with you every step of the journey

15 Independent Study This should be at least 15 hours a week
Evenly split between college and home. Students are expected to partake in two supervised study periods a week. Please be mindful that part time jobs should really only be 10 hours a week.

16 Flexible Day In order to support students and ensure they reach their full potential they are expected to be in College all day every day. On the 10th October the first assessments will be in from staff. At this point the Sixth form team will meet together to authorise students with a flexible day. This means they can be flexible with their free time in College.
