1 Title: What is the Gender Jihad?
Amina Wadud’s book further distinguishes her from conservative Islamic feminist reformist writers who have been described as attempting a ‘patriarchal bargain’ whereas Wadud calls for the Allah (God) given rights of Muslim women to be recognised as equal to that of Muslim men. Jihad = Struggle Patriarchal = Governed by men Write down 2 ticks and a question about Wadud. OR Try and explain what might be meant by a ‘patriarchal bargain’.
