8 Biblical Submission is not:
Being a doormat Subjugation Exploitation Oppression Tyranny Imprisonment Superiority/Inferiority Less honour or glory

9 Biblical submission is a powerful choice

10 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

11 21 submitting to one another in the
fear of God. 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Saviour of the body.

12 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,

13 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

14 shall become one flesh.”
30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

15 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

18 27 For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves?
Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves. Luke 22:27

19 make themselves more important. By nature
“When Jesus washed their feet, He taught them that the greatest is the person who uses his(her) authority to build up people and not, like the Pharisees, to build up their authority and make themselves more important. By nature we want to promote ourselves, but the Holy Spirit enables us to submit ourselves.” W. Wiersbe

20 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honour giving preference to one another; Romans 12:10

21  Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Philippians 2:3-4

22 21 submitting to one another
in the fear of God.

23 For the unbeliever, the fear of God is the fear of the judgment of God
and eternal death, which is eternal separation from God 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! Luke 12:5

24 For the believer, the fear of God is something much different.
The believer's fear is reverence of God 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28-29

25 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands,
as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Saviour of the body.

26 Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”
16 To the woman He said:… Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”

27

28 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

29 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. …in the fear of God.

30 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,

31 28 So husbands ought to love their own
wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

32 33…let each one of you in particular
so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

35 19 We love Him because He first loved us.
