Format Requirements:
1-2 typed pages (ONE FULL PAGE, but absolutely no more than TWO)
12 point font, Times New Roman
You must include at least one example of Restatement, Repetition, Analogy, or Parallel Structure
You must include facts, statistics, and/or expert opinion
Choose an organizational structure to connect ideas: Chronological order, compare-contrast, cause-effect, or problem-solution.
I will provide you with some sentence starters you can use with these organizational structures. I would like you to make use of them in your speech.

You show the listener that the reasoning for your side is more logical than the reasoning on the opposing side(s).
You provide evidence in support of your position to make it stronger.

(Paragraphs 4-5): Counterarguments with your Responses to them

Complete a peer critique:
Read the paper (or the opening paragraph).
In the intro, highlight the hook in blue, the thesis statement in pink.
In the first body paragraphs, highlight the evidence in green.
In the remaining body paragraphs, highlight the counterarguments in yellow.
If you notice any grammatical errors, point them out to the writer.
When you are finished with your critique, return the paper to the writer. Work to fix the problems in your paper.

Now is the perfect time for refocusing on school to earn your English credit. There are FIVE WEEKS of school remaining before midterm exams.
Please take some time to fill out the questionnaire. I would like to talk a bit more about our mindsets. When you are finished, turn it in to the basket and organize your binder. When your binder is correctly organized, call me over for a check.
