3 Support for Transition
6th Grade Visits the Middle School 6th graders to visit on June 15 Discover courses and activities offered Open House – Tentatively scheduled for August 30th from 4:30-6:30 Students explore the school with their schedules Tours will be given by current students Staff members will be available to answer questions

4 Scheduling Courses Offered: English Social Studies Science Math
Home & Careers Physical Education (Every Other Day) Art (Every Other Day) Intro to Spanish or French (may be exempt through CSE) Music: Band/Chorus/Orchestra or General Music

7:40am-2:35pm 9 periods each day (42 minutes) classes & 1 lunch A/B Days No Homeroom st period has an extra minutes for announcements

7 After-School Activities
Late busses are available for students who stay after school. Late bus passes are required, which are obtained from the teacher of the program. Homework Help Teachers are available from 2:30 - 4:10 to assist students with homework and organization.

Clubs Including Yearbook, Theater Club, Science Olympiad, Art Club Sports Fall, Winter, and Spring sports are available at the modified level Athletic Director: Lou Cioffi ext. 2113

9 Communication Parent Portal Phone Email
Receive access to your student’s grades, assignments, and attendance to know what is going on. This is a great way to stay informed before progress reports and report cards are sent home. Phone You can always call the Middle School office at ext and leave a message for a teacher. Because classes are in session, sometimes this is a difficult way to get in touch. All addresses follow the same format. First initial of the first name and last Ex: Sarah Turck –

Websites Teachers websites includes class work and homework Middle School website: Teachers Teachers can answer question about grades, assignments, and classroom routines School Guidance Counselor Counselors can answer questions about schedules, academic planning, possible tutoring, etc.

11 School Rules Electronic devices must be turned off during normal school hours. No backpacks during normal school hours. No hats or hoods are to be worn during school hours. Refer to the Student/Parent Handbook.

12 Tips for Success Attend the Open House in August.
Insist on daily attendance. Establish a routine study/homework plan. Encourage students to stay for Homework Help. Monitor your student’s planner. Use the Parent Portal. Review progress reports and report cards. Be in touch if there are any concerns.
