“When she gave birth, she said, ‘My Lord! I have delivered a girl’ – and God knew very well what she had delivered; and the male is not like the female. [She said] “And I have named her Maryam and placed her and her children in Your safekeeping from the accursed Satan.’” (3:36) “When she gave birth, she said, ‘My Lord! I have delivered a girl’ – and God knew very well what she had delivered; and the male is not like the female. [She said] “And I have named her Maryam and placed her and her children in Your safekeeping from the accursed Satan.’” (3:36)

Her Lord accepted her with approval and made her grow in goodness. And Zachariah became her guardian… (3:37) Her Lord accepted her with approval and made her grow in goodness. And Zachariah became her guardian… (3:37) You were not with them when they cast their reeds to see which of them would be the guardian of Mary. You were not with them when they quarreled. (3:44) You were not with them when they cast their reeds to see which of them would be the guardian of Mary. You were not with them when they quarreled. (3:44)

And when the angels said, ‘Mary, God has chosen you and purified you. He has chosen you over all other women. Mary, obey your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow.’… When the angels said, ‘Mary, your Lord gives you good news of a Word from Him. His name is the Messih, Esa (Jesus), son of Mary, of high esteem in this world and the hereafter, and one of those brought near. (3:42-45) And when the angels said, ‘Mary, God has chosen you and purified you. (3:42-45)

She said, “My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?” [The angel] said, “Such is God; He creates what he wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be’ and it is…” (3:47) She said, “My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?” [The angel] said, “Such is God; He creates what he wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be’ and it is…” (3:47) “So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.” (19:21) “So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.” (19:21)

And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, “Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten. But he called her from below her, “Do not grieve. Your Lord has provided beneath you a stream. Shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.” (19:23-25)

A closer look at the verses “He has chosen you over all other women…” – Mary is the best of all women “He has chosen you over all other women…” – Mary is the best of all women “Prostrate and bow with those who bow” – a form of prayer at the time “Prostrate and bow with those who bow” – a form of prayer at the time “Son of Mary” – honor in association with Mary “Son of Mary” – honor in association with Mary Messiah = المسيح = the toucher Messiah = المسيح = the toucher

A closer look at the verses Jesus is “one of those brought near” (to God) – he is of a group, not singled out. Jesus is “one of those brought near” (to God) – he is of a group, not singled out. She was fully human, feeling the pain of labor, feeling the psychological distress of her situation as a pregnant virgin. She was fully human, feeling the pain of labor, feeling the psychological distress of her situation as a pregnant virgin. The verse implies that Jesus was born in late summer, when the dates are ripe and fresh. The verse implies that Jesus was born in late summer, when the dates are ripe and fresh.

Then she brought him to her people, Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, “O Mary, carrying him. They said, “O Mary, you have certainly done a thing you have certainly done a thing unprecedented. O sister of Aaron, unprecedented. O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste.” nor was your mother unchaste.” (19:27-28) (19:27-28) After Jesus was born

So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we speak to one who is in the cradle, a child?” Jesus said, “Indeed, I am the servant of God. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And he has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and alms as long as I remain alive. And he made me dutiful to my mother…” (19:29-32) Jesus speaks from the cradle

Jesus quoted in the Quran The angels said, “[God] will teach him writing and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel, and make him a messenger to the children of Israel. [He will say] " And (I come) confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear God and obey me. Indeed, God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path.” (3:49-51)

Jesus’ Miracles “Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay (that which is) like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by God’s permission. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by God’s permission. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.” (3: 49)

The Crucifixion And (we cursed them) for their disbelief and their slander against Mary and for saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of God.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but (another) was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it and only follow of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Rather, God raised him to Himself. And ever is God Exalted in Might and Wise. (4:156-158)

Jesus on Judgment Day God will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, ‘Take me and my mother as deities besides God’? He will say, “Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right… I said not to them except what You commanded me – to worship God, my Lord and your Lord…” (5:116-117)

Jesus’ Nature The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; other messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs, then look how they are deluded. (5:75)

Jesus’ Nature Verily, the likeness of Jesus in God’s sight is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then said, “Be!” and he was. (3:59) It is not befitting for God to take a son. Exalted is He! When he decrees an affair, He only says to it, “Be,” and it is. (19:35)

Prophetic traditions about Jesus In more than 50 hadith, Muhammad is recorded as indicating that Jesus will return to Earth, rule the people according to the Qur'an, fight and kill the Antichrist, and usher in an era of peace and abundance for the whole world. He will live on earth for 40 years. Muslims will pray for him at his funeral. 20 How do Muslims view Jesus? With respect and honor. Never would a Muslim defame, ridicule or insult him. With respect and honor. Never would a Muslim defame, ridicule or insult him. They consider him a prophet, neither rejecting him like the Jews nor deifying him like the Christians. A Muslim is also a true Christian.
