3  Chapter Goals  To develop members into community philanthropists  To advance Osteopathic awareness in the community  To promote scholastic excellence  To support underserved communities of the Denver metro area

4  Current membership: 31 student members  16 from Class of 2017  15 from Class of 2018  0 from Class of 2019  0 from class of 2020 **Currently in application process

5  Application deadline Sept 25 th, 2016; notified of acceptance Oct 10 th, 2016  Actively working with administration on moving this process to mid-August  Acceptance based on application scoring  Scored anonymously by 6 separate members  Overseen by Vice President  Points given for service, honors, personal statement, etc.  Top 67% of applicants are accepted

6  Application Eligibility  Cumulative GPA above 80%  Top 25% of class by GPA at the time of application  Must have completed one semester of course work  Good academic standing and without any Honor Code violations  Demonstrated service and community involvement

7  To Maintain membership all members must:  Pass all clinical rotations and courses  Not incur any honor code violations  Community service  OMS-I: 30hrs  OMS-II: 30hrs  OMS-III: 20hrs  OMS-IV: 10hrs

9  Financial  Current balance: $3,077.31  Club funds generated from student fees distributed amongst all student clubs and fundraisers (mentioned later) ▪ All club members must select SSP as one of their “funded clubs” for all semesters upon acceptance

10  Child health advocacy  Denver Osteopathic Foundation “Food, Fun, Fitness” program  Concerts For Kids “Community Day”  Goal to become regularly involved in Special Olympics Colorado

11  Medical volunteers at area events  Project C.U.R.E.  9Health Fair

12  Donor Alliance  Registering students/community for the Colorado Donor registry

13  Sacred Heart House of Denver  For homeless women and children  Provides: ▪ Temporary emergency housing ▪ Food ▪ Clothing homeless women and children.  Volunteers provide dinner for the guests every night.  Dinner volunteers eat with the guests

14  “Mini Med School”  Area undergrads  Open house at RVUCOM for potential students  Preparation and information

15  Academic Development  Tutoring ▪ Members encouraged to participate in COM peer tutoring  Board and Subject exam preparation ▪ Guides for success ▪ Tutoring

16  Aimed at fostering a collegial environment within the COM  Pinning ceremony  Match day celebration  Graduation mixer  Fundraisers ▪ Koozie sales at graduation and during school year
