3 What does MSCHE accreditation mean? The institution: has a mission appropriate to higher education; is guided by well-defined and appropriate goals, including goals for self-learning; has established conditions and procedures under which its mission and goals can be realized; assesses both institutional effectiveness and student learning outcomes, and uses the results for improvements; is accomplishing its missions and goals substantially; and is organized, staffed and supported so that it can be expected to accomplish its mission and goals. 3

Budgeting and Resource Alignment 1.Revisit budgeting process to support strategic reallocation of funds, including distribution of overhead from external grants and mechanisms to incentivize academic innovation. Enhanced support for adjunct faculty (i.e., dedicated webpage, professional development opportunities, satisfaction survey in Fall) 11

Community and Culture: 1.Develop and implement recommendations from 2016 COACHE survey of faculty satisfaction. 2.Initiate satisfaction surveys of staff and adjunct faculty. 3.Initiate University campus climate survey. Leadership: 1. Develop timelines and process for more comprehensive assessment of leadership. 12

14 Theme 3 Strengthening Commitment to Student Success New Initiatives Enrollment Management is More Intentional – Strategic reorganization of Enrollment Management and Marketing. – Strengthened pipeline for high school students: College readiness programs, FTP, SAI, dual enrollments. Enhanced Focus on Student Retention – Strategic reorganization to integrate Student Affairs with Academic Affairs; ALC into Library. – New advising positions Dedicated position (Asst Provost) focused on Student Assessment, Advising and Retention. – Predictive Analytics (EAB). 14

15 Theme 3 Strengthening Commitment to Student Success Recommendations for Continuous Improvement Enrollment 1.Develop strategic enrollment and marketing plan. 2.Explore ways to increase need-based financial aid and graduate assistants, and refine award process. Student Retention and Support Services 1.Develop comprehensive student retention plan. 2.Identify and implement strategies for proactive partnership between Career Center and academic affairs. 3.Assess impact of mid-term grade reporting and increase faculty participation. 4.Assess impact of academic advising on student persistence and graduation. 5.Continue to engage in course redesign for high DFW courses. Assessment 1.Develop assessment plan for certificate programs and strengthen SLO process to gain clarity and measurement effectiveness. 15

Educational Offerings Syllabus Repository -- provides greater student access to syllabi and course SLOs. General Education Implemented new General Education curriculum. 17
