1 St Nics Weekly Reminders & Dates Whole School & Group Dates & Reminders Sickness Policy. If your child has had sickness or diarrhoea please DO NOT send them into school for at least 24 hours since the last episode. We do not want any infection passed around to other children or staff. New Texting System: We have moved over to our new texting system which is linked to our new school website. You will receive school texts from eSchools. Please let us know if you are not receiving texts and bear with us as we go through this change. More info about an eSchools app you can use will be sent out shortly. World Book Day: We are celebrating this event next Monday, 7 th March. Dressing up themes: Reception/Yr1&2 – Julia Donaldson characters Yr3-6 – Roald Dahl characters. Book Corners: Please bring in anything that you could lend to improve your book corner, lights, beanbags etc. School Website: Please ensure you keep checking the school website for updates on after school clubs/forthcoming events. School Nurse Drop-in: Wed. 16 th March, 8.45am. To discuss any health issues you have for your child. 1 st come 1 st served basis. Parents’ Evenings: Tuesday 22 nd March, 5pm-8pm and Wednesday 23 rd March, 4pm-6:30pm. Free School Meals: If you think your child is eligible for Free School Meals please contact the School Office. Get Caught Reading: Please email photographs to the Office. Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers: Keep collecting vouchers! Parent Pay: School lunches. Please do ensure your child has enough money on their account to pay for their school lunch. If you are unable to add credit to their account then please send them in with a packed lunch instead. Easter Holidays: Last day of school Thursday 2 4 th March, return to school Monday 11 th April. Whole School & Group Letters Sent Home This Week Reminder dressing up for World Book Day next Monday, 7 th March. Bottles tops needed all colours/sizes for Mrs Smith’s Language teaching. Get reading somewhere unusual! Friday 4 th March 2016 Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 Reception - If any children have been practising writing and recognising their numbers from 0-20, please write it on a news slip. Reception – Can children bring in their favourite story books on Monday to share with their peers. Please name all books. Reception – Spring Barn Farm trip, Tuesday 15 th March. Please make payment on ParentPay or cash to office ASAP. Yr 1 – PE now on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Yr 1&2- Please ensure a full PE kit is in school, including outside kit such as jogging bottoms. Yr 1&2 – Our topic focus this term is the Victorians. Please start finding out information at home. Yr 1&2 – Our new Talk4Writing this term is Rumpelstiltskin. Yr 2 – SATs Meeting on Thursday 10 th March 6-7pm. Yr 2 - No news please unless topic related. Yr2 – Parent volunteers needed for sticking work into books. Years 3&4 Yr 3 – Spelling journals will be needed in school, Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays. Yr 3 – Mrs Townsend’s spelling group need their books in on a Wednesday. Please keep practising with your children. Yr 3 – PE for this half term is on a Monday & Friday. Year 3 –Please keep practising telling the time with your child and helping them to use money accurately. Can you also practise dividing, eg. £250 shared between 5 people? £250 ÷5 = and fractions eg. ½ of 20, ⅓ of 30, ¼ of 10 Yr3&4 – Advanced notice: British Museum trip on Thursday 24 th March. Letter to follow. Yr 3/4 – Please remember to bring in decorations for our book corners. Yr 4 – PE kits. Mon & Weds 4KN Tues & Wed 4JH Yr 4 – Deadline for home learning is Friday 18 th March.. Years 5&6 Yr 5 – PE days are Tuesday and Friday, Yr 5 – Spellings due in on Thursday – spelling test. Yr 6 – PE days are now Tuesday and Thursday. Yr 6 will now be taking spellings home every week for a test every Thursday. Yr 6 – SATs and France Trip Meeting. Wednesday 9 th March, 6-7pm. Yr 6 France 2016. Still outstanding a few medical forms and slip to confirm if your child can swim 25m send in ASAP please. Check your child has a valid passport and apply for EHIC if necessary. The deadline for the full balance is 24 th March 2016. Please make payment via Parent Pay.
