1 Rhyme Scheme Rhyme scheme is the pattern in which the last words in lines of poetry rhyme. We identify rhyming lines with letters. The first two lines that rhyme would be A, the next two would be B, and so on. The rhyming lines do NOT have to come right after another.

2 Rhyme Scheme Examples What lines in Mother Goose’s “Humpty Dumpty” end in rhyming words? Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king’s horses, and all the king’s men Couldn’t put Humpty together again!
