{ Found Poetry

Flow Now I hear The night sensing the power On a still moonlit moment And again, There are echoes of past and future changes in the flow of time, seeking a foothold, Tangible, Purposeful, Rising.

{ Big Idea: Create piece of artwork based on a core idea or central theme. Create a found poem by circling poetic words or phrases on a book page.

{ Step One: Find a page from a book that looks good, (lots of good words). Photocopy it.

{ Step Two: Now take a pencil and begin to circle words. Not too many! Try to create a poem from the circled words. About 12-20 words is good.

{ Step Three: Think about the word that represents the core idea of your poem. At least one word should give you a good visual image to create from.

{ Step Four: Cover over the un-circled words with your graphic representation of the core idea. (Feel free to use paint, other paper, markers, etc.)

{ Step Five: Once you have the background image and colors laid down, add more detail.

{ Step Six: Neatly write your “core idea” word on your final page.
