2 The Law – Article 2: Safe School Climate Act What is prohibited: What it means:

3 The Law: Cyberbullying Cyberbullying IS included in South Carolina Law, in definition of harrassment, intimidation, or bullying, in Section 59-63-120 (Definitions), point 1: Therefore, cyberbullying in SC is against the law.

4 Consequences of the Law: Article 2: Safe School Climate Act All SC schools must adopt policies of their own that prohibit bullying: Therefore, it is not only against SC laws but individual school policies to bully, and consequences of breaking school policies are in place.

5 Consequences of the Law: Article 3: Discipline Any form of harassment, intimidation, or bullying gives schools grounds to expel, suspend, or transfer students:

6 Consequences of the Law: Other Consequences Bullying has consequences in that it (a.) is put on your school record which all schools are required to keep and update, and (b.) may be put on your criminal record. Both of these follow you wherever you go, and so violation of law and policy on record could and will have a myriad of consequences in terms of future college and job applications.
